The Launch of The Guru’s Guide to SMSFs with Grant Abbott

Grant Abbott

Thank you to our attendees of the launch of The Guru’s Guide to SMSFs with Grant Abbott and also the brand new fixed income bond being developed by Westgen Solar. Both very exciting developments and really with Gina’s presentation on the new SMSF Version 2.0, a big change for all SMSFs new and old, the seminar flew by. We could have easily spent a morning or even a full day discussing strategies, opportunities and how best to use a SMSF to create a long term wealth, both for the current and future generations.

  1. Get your Financial, Investment and Business Sorted before a Marker Correction

Grant And Gina had a lot of in-depth technical and strategy issues put to them after the talk.  As Grant said there is no “no when it comes to SMSF ideas and strategies.  The first step is to read the book and then ask Gina, who works closely with Grant, not whether it can be done but more importantly how it can be done.  Gina and Grant can pull apart most retail and industry super funds, businesses and family situations to make things that much more tax and wealth effective.   Gina has offered a free no obligation appointment for all attendees to discuss their personal and family business, finance, super and investment situation or even simply to talk about various areas of the book that you may have picked up on.  As Gina’s time is limited make sure that you book an appointment while there is momentum in your SMSF thinking otherwise you will be sitting next year wondering “what could have happened?”

  1. Energy Security is the Latest Strategy for Companies and Governments – Invest with Them

Warren Murphy from Westgen Solar looked at how Wesfarmers, a West Australian powerhouse was leading the way by securing solar energy for it’s operations via the Byfort Solar Power Station.  To be built by Westgen Solar and financed by the Governments Clean Energy Foundation, Westgen has established a project specific company – WA Solar to provide the remaining equity capital and fixed interest financing.  Investment in the equity will provide fully franked dividends returns and the fixed interest component – Solar Bonds will provide a fixed interest return over a ten year period.  As this project financing is cutting out the middlemen and has secured a ten year supply agreement with Wesfarmers, returns are strong over the period with a 7% return expected for the bonds and higher for the equity.  The investment documents are currently being reviewed by ASIC and to be on the list of the first to receive the information please contact Charles Sondergaard.  The Australian Financial Review seems to have pages devoted to energy security day in and day out so this is an opportunity of being part of the Australian energy solution.

  1. The Guru’s Guide to SMSFs – Spread the Word

By now you should have got part of the way into the book.  It is a sad, sad fact that only 10% of books purchased or acquired are actually read – even though they may favourably or significantly change a reader’s life course.  You are one of the first to receive Grant Abbott’s book, which is already being used by many for understanding SMSFs, learning strategies and setting in place a strong wealth creation and tax minimisations structure for decades to come.  The more time you invest, the more rewards you will have.  Sondergaards have a number of books for your friends. Work and business colleagues and relatives.  Contact Charles or Gina to get your hands on more.  The first print edition is fast disappearing.

Soon it will be Christmas time and this event will pass into distant memory.  Take advantage of the takeaways and don’t let this great opportunity pass you by.
